The TrelliX Embolic Coil comprises shape memory polymer over a coil. The porous embolic scaffold of the shape memory polymer supports the rapid formation of small interconnected clots throughout its structure. The biocompatible and non-inflammatory polymer promotes the rapid conversion to organized thrombus, followed by collagen deposition without chronic active inflammation, which leads to a stable occlusion.
High Embolic Material Volume, High Packing Density
Each TrelliX Embolic Coil offers a high embolic material volume and the potential of a high packing density of embolic material. Packing density has been shown to be an important factor in avoiding recanalization.*
Minimal Artifact
The shape memory polymer portion of the device has no artifact, which facilitates follow-up imaging.
